Canadian cities have never been known as the dangerous cities. In fact, the country is known to be one of the safest countries in the world.

But as you know all, there is some evil in the good. This is what happened in Canada. There are some places in Canada that have a caution “Dangerous”.

According to Maclean’s annual ‘Most Dangerous places in Canada’, report North Battleford and Saskatchewan have been ranked as the most dangerous places in Canada.

This report surveyed 229 cities and communities from all over the country.

The rating for places is done in accordance with the Crime Severity Index (CSI) which is a statistic showing all police-reported crimes with respect to the severity and seriousness of the crimes.

The crime measurement is divided into different violations categories like homicide, theft, drug offenses, and crimes committed by youth. The listing all determines the condition of the CSI in any community; whether it has been improved or gone to the worst condition from a previous year.

According to Maclean’s, North Battleford has gotten a CSI score of 353 with its population around 14,535, while the national average in 70.96.

This year’s report showed the three most dangerous cities from British Columbia and Manitoba followed by two cities from each Saskatchewan and Alberta.

You might be shocked to hear that the country’s largest city Vancouver holds a position of 35th and its crime rate also has been increased from the last year. Its CSI score is 114.  

Calgary stands on 93-position in the list of the most dangerous cities scoring 74 on the CSI list. Montreal came behind Calgary as it is on the 97th place scoring 72 on CSI list. Good news is that both Montreal and Calgary have undergone through a decrease in their crime rates as compared to last year.   

Finally, the heart of Canada, Toronto, is ranked the 124th dangerous city of Canada, making CSI score of 59, though its crime rate has increased from 2017.
