It’s time to finally welcome spring, even though there’s snow still plastered over a lot of driveways in the  National Capital Region, it is starting to warm up and sunshine seems to be approaching after such a harsh winter. There are many sights to behold during this time in Ottawa. 

Poutine Fest 

Spring is the time for you if you love poutine, as Ottawa hosts not one but two poutine festivals during the season of spring. From April 27th to April 30th along Park Street the occasion goes on for a flying start with kicking off the PoutineFest on Sparks. The Festivities continue with the starting of Ottawa PoutineFest in the following week with the event extending from May 4th to the 7th of May. The festival is held at Festival Plaza, at Ottawa City Hall. Both of these occasions will provide with excellent poutine vendors from both within the country and abroad serving the highly coveted Canadian dish. 

Canadian Tulip Festival 

One of the most awaited festivals based around in spring, the Tulip Festival holds significance for the city of Ottawa. The yearly event extends from May 12th to the 22nd of May, which lines up perfectly with the time of blooming for these gorgeous Tulips in the National Capital Region. There will be four sites this year that visitors can check out in honor of the 65th Anniversary of the Festival. The sites are namely as follows: Lansdowne Park Tulip Gallery, Commissioners Park Tulips, Byword Tulip Park and Tulips on the Garden Promenade. 

Central Experimental Farm 

The Central Experimental Farm is open year round, but spring time is an especially fun time to visit. This is the time of year when all the beautiful plants in the gardens and greenhouses will be blossoming, so it makes the perfect spring time photo op. Also, if you take a visit to the barns, where the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is located, you may get to see some adorable baby animals whom are usually born around this time of year!
