In Vancouver International airport (YVR), the tourists can directly register their luggage in the new self-serving bag drop system. After it gets analyzed at a kiosk, the travelers can circulate their bags at the CheckedIt Express self-bag drop system which is working 4 times better than the previous machine system, that consumes the time rate of 8 seconds without any compensation.

This system has an inclined position so that the bags can rotate on to the conveyor, and this technology uses a high-quality caliber camera which precisely reads the label which is on the bags. If the bags outweigh the conveyor belt will not be proceeding the bag on the next counter.

Craig Richmond the President and CEO of Vancouver Airport has declared, “We strive to deliver an outstanding experience for every traveler that comes through YVR”.

This new machinery system is being brought in YVR as it consumes less space and decreases the blockage in the field of bag drop at an airport. This will incredibly decrease the extensive cost and save valued space for others to provide a comfortable area to the passenger.

In the upcoming year, the YVR will be setting a perfect bag drop terminal which will be progressively enhancing the frameworks quality which will provide ease in the accelerated growth of the passenger.

It has been estimated for the upcoming year that the YVR airport will be seeing around 29 million passengers in 2020, and 31 million in 2022 and in the previous year it had observed that 24 million were reported in 2017 and 20.3 million in 2015.

The Chris Gilliland, the Director of Innovative travel solution (ITS) controller of Vancouver Airport declared, “As passenger numbers continue to increase, the need for innovative approaches to solve global processing challenges is profound”.

YVR’s ITS division has shown the remarkable efforts to establish the new Baggage handling technology with New Zealand-based Glidepath and will also be having a bag drop system to other airports across the world. This will maintain the new flow of an aeronautical stock.

IT'S also furnished with the airport’s Border Express, a type of kiosk, which accepts every passport, less processing time, and decrease terminal space & labor costs.

In 2009 YVR launched in Kiosks and 1,300 kiosks have been sold to 39 airports and seaports. YVR has started their 5.6 billion development project which includes the expansion of the terminal building.
