I know it sounds awkward but let me say it. The garage is the best place in any house. You know, you spend your childhood there. The crooked walls and shredded paint say it all. Those orange leaves scattering around and scented smell, chirping birds, and unknown laughter; makes you revive your memories. Everything looks so familiar and in a matter of seconds, you feel safe there. 

But sometimes, you just miss recognizing its bad composure. And it starts building up until it finally leaves your garage nothing but a big black clutter house. The spread spare parts of cars look very crap and the ceiling starts rusting. 

Open the door of your garage and admit how badly it is destructed, just because of your carelessness. Confess your mistake. Take a deep breath. And feel sorry for that. Pull things together and feel determined that you will make everything perfect, just for the sake of your garage. Follows these simple steps which I am about to mention and cherish the happy times!

Don’t worry if you there is a big mess around your garage. You just need a few things that aid in cleaning, your potential, and of course your worthful time to set your garage free from all clutter.

The first thing you need to do is empty your garage. Remove all the things, whether good or bad, just bring them out. Start compiling them all into two categories: the things which are useful and the things which have lost their usefulness. Start arranging everything with respect to two such categories. In this way, you will be able to know that which things you must keep and which are to be taken as a garbage or need to be sold out. 

Next thing you must do is to start cleaning inside out. You will need a big broom, brush, cloth, bucket full of soapy water, sponge etc. You better get anyone with you as it is going to be a heck of a work. 

Start cleaning the ceiling and walls. Brush off all the scary cobwebs hanging with spiders from the walls. Check whether your light holders are in their proper shape or they require a replacement. Check if you need anything to fix the broken windows and door. After that, wipe them off with soapy water soaked in a sponge and then rinse and dry. 

By this time, your floor must be covered with a lot of dirt and dust. Start mopping the floor. Once you are done, you will find some stains of oil and grease in many places. For this, you need an oil stain remover and a little more effort to clean them. You can use a brush or sponge for this purpose. 

For a newer look, you can also paint the walls and ceiling (if you like). Or hire another person to do that for you. Add some colors to your dull and dusky garage. As per recommendations, cream and sage looks very fine if your outer walls are red bricks.

And trash down all the broken gears. After you are done with all the cleanliness, the next big thing is to put everything in their proper places. 

Start placing everything which is in its proper structure and shape to assigned places. The tools, the oil cans, nails and screws, ladder, hammer etc. Box up all those not-so-often-used things. Manage right places for each tool so that next time you need, you will never attain any difficulty in finding them. 

Things which are useless and broken must be removed. All the spare parts and wrecked pieces, old paint cans etc. must be filled in a garbage bag along with all the gunge and grunge. You have no idea how refreshing it feels to kick those nasty pieces out.

Things which are in their correct form and appearance but are no longer in your use must be sold away to anyone. You can find right purchaser from anywhere, you never know if he is living right next to your door. 

First, give a hard thud on your back for all your efforts and potentials. And see the garage how clean and tidy it looks. Make a resolution that you will never ever let the chaos build in your garage. Check from time to time to undo all the mess. Renovate your garage once in a while to refresh it. Try new things every now and then, because it is your place and you are responsible for it. All you need is just a sincere dedication and determination.

A little suggestion for your garage is besides having a car in there, you can also use the space for a gym to rejuvenate your soul in an open and scenic area.
